Jonathan Parry-Jennings, known as Jonny, is the key driver behind Food For All, a registered Christchurch charity committed to enriching lives through community and compassion. Food For All has a powerful, two-pronged purpose aimed at tackling food poverty and unemployment.
Nutrition and Dignity-Restoring WorkThe organisation is dedicated to connecting Ōtautahi/Christchurch people and communities through healthy food and meaningful work opportunities. Jonny leads the "Food for Work" programme, which provides short, paid assignments (like cooking, packing, and literacy support) to help individuals rebuild confidence, purpose, and chart a pathway back into long-term work.
Core Initiatives:
- Affordable Produce Packs: Sourcing surplus fruit and vegetables and selling them at a greatly reduced cost to local families every Wednesday.
- Food for Work: Providing guided, paid assignments and one-on-one mentoring ("grab a coffee with Jonny") to develop vocational skills.
Ideal Referral Focus:Jonny's ideal referral is a corporate sponsor or donor looking to fund community work, a local business willing to offer short-term paid work assignments, or a farm/produce distributor with consistent surplus fruit and vegetables that Food For All can source for their produce packs.
